Overview
Friends Fitness ("we", "us") is a private fitness app for small groups of friends. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. In short: we collect only what the app needs to work, we don't use third-party trackers, and we never sell your data.
Information we collect
- Account — you sign in with Sign in with Apple. Apple sends us an identifier and the email address you choose to share (which may be an Apple private-relay address), plus a display name you set. We never see your Apple password.
- Health & activity — with your permission, we read workout and activity data (such as workouts, steps, and distance) from Apple Health. We use it only to power your feed, leaderboards, and duels. It is shared only with the groups and people you choose, and is never used for advertising.
- Social content — the groups you join, friends you connect with, competitions and duels, and the posts, cheers, and reactions you create.
- Camera — used only to scan a group-invite QR code on your device. We do not store or upload camera images.
- Purchases — Friends Fitness Plus is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment; we receive confirmation of your subscription status but never your card details.
- Technical — the minimum needed to run the service, such as a device token so we can deliver the notifications you enable.
How we use your information
To operate the app's social and competition features, deliver notifications you turn on, keep your account secure, and respond to support requests. That's it.
No third-party tracking
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. Your data goes only to our backend provider and to Apple's services (Apple Health, Sign in with Apple, the App Store, and Apple Push Notification service) as needed to run the app.
How your data is shared
We share your content only with the groups and people you choose inside the app, governed by your in-app sharing settings. We use Supabase as our backend provider to store and sync your data. We do not sell your personal data, and we disclose it to others only if required by law.
Your choices & rights
You control what you share through the app's sharing settings, and you can revoke Apple Health access at any time in the iOS Settings app. You can delete your account yourself, in the app, under Settings → Delete account: it permanently deletes your account and your content and removes you from every group, and it can't be undone. To request a copy of your data — or if you'd rather we deleted the account for you — email support@friendsfit.app.
Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When your account is deleted — by you in the app, or by us at your request — we remove your personal data from our systems, except where we're required to retain it by law.
Children
Friends Fitness is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
